Reflection post

My favorite part of this project was looking up the song that we used because I am a big fan of the Doors and that was one of my favorite songs from them. What I didn’t like about the project was that making up an imaginary character. We should of used some real solider name and made it seem like it was really them writing the blog. There really wasn’t much learning throughout the project; I was just following the instructions.

What I liked about the Vietnam War project was the part that we were looking for the song that would match the time of the Vietnam War called The Doors Five to One. What I didn’t like about this project was making up an imaginary character of the Vietnam war time and come up with his lifestyle and personality and everything. We used have used an actual person of that times instead. I learned that the Vietnam soldiers faced hardships leaving their families and going of to war.

I liked this project because I could learn how we make our blog and post writings we wrote. Also, I like to use and learn computer. But, I didn't like that we need to determine the war is needed or not because It was very hard to determine that the war is right or wrong. I think nobody can determine about the war's nessesity. There are some reasons on each side why people think the war is needed or not. While I work on this project, I learned how we make and use blogs and how other people feel and think about a war and soldiers who fight in the war.

What I liked about the project was having a group blog. We could write about our own thoughts and feelings. What I didn't like about the project was that blog setting was hard to use because it's little confusing to edit my blog. I learned how to make a blog and how to post pictures and music in the blog.

song,lyrics,song explanation post

Yeah, c'mon, Love my girl
She lookin' good, C'mon, One more
Five to one, baby
One in five
No one here gets out alive, now
You get yours, baby
I'll get mine
Gonna make it, baby
If we try
The old get old
And the young get stronger
May take a week
And it may take longer
They got the guns
But we got the numbers
Gonna win, yeah
We're takin' over
Come on!
Yeah!
Your ballroom days are over, baby
Night is drawing near
Shadows of the evening crawl across the years
Ya walk across the floor with a flower in your hand
Trying to tell me no one understands
Trade in your hours for a handful dimes
Gonna' make it, baby, in our prime
Come together one more time
Get together one more time
Get together one more time
Get together, aha
Get together one more time!
Get together one more time!
Get together one more time
Get together one more time
Get together, gotta, get together
Ohhhhhhhh!
Hey, c'mon, honey
You won't have along wait for me, baby
I'll be there in just a little while
You see, I gotta go out in this car with these people and...
Get together one more time
Get together one more time
Get together, got to
Get together, got to
Get together, got to
Take you up in my room and...
Hah-hah-hah-hah-hah
Love my girl
She lookin' good, lookin' real good
Love ya, c'mon

we chose this song because many soldiers in the vietnam war missed people from their family and loved ones and wanted to live to go back home and see them. however this also relates to me because i'm a big family kind of person and i like to spend alot of time with family and friends and not seeing them in a couple weeks seems like forever.

autobiography

My name is Donald Perez I was born on April 4th, 1935, In San Francisco. Before I got deployed to Vietnam I was working with my father in his auto shop David’s Auto World. My passion was working on cars and fixing up the old ones and making them run like they were brand new. Back home I would like to hang out with my buddies Danny, Brandon, and Peter. We would go out to the lake and fish for hours and then with the fish we caught, we would start up a fire and cook them. I’m an adventurous person I wasn’t really afraid of the idea getting deployed to Vietnam, because I thought it was going to be fun and adventurous, but it didn’t turn out how it seemed to be. I was fighting in a horrible war; I just want to go home now. I want to live to see my family and friends and have kids.

Opinion and Picture Post

It is always tragic and sad to watch the death of many soldiers by the enemy's guns during the war. I feel honored by all the soldiers who had fought in any war and I don't treat their deaths with vanity. Although the war took many people's lives, sometimes the war can be the only solution to the problem. If I was an American citizen during the wartime, I would be the Hawk instead of being a Dove.  Because if United States had not been involved in the Vietnam war, then it would've been over taken by another communist power, like North Korea. I do not always believe in war, but I think it is necessary at certain times. If you see the historical events of our ancestors, war was always around them and it was how they sustained their rights and beliefs. The French Revolution and American Civil War, are examples of the necessity of war. Many people ignore the true motivation behind war and view it as being violent and destructive. But they are forgetting that war can be used to correct wrong to right.
